Champion Rushmar's Charmer

Rushmar Lhasas ... are Champion Lhasas

2013

Buzz was officially retired from the show ring in 2009 having had an astounding show career! After being the Number One Lhasa Apso two years in a row, Buzz finished his career with 15,000 points in 2009.  This is a record achieved only once in the history of the American Kennel Club (in 2002) and at this time, Buzz continues to hold the record with an unprecedented amount of points.  Buzz is available for stud service to approved bitches; please contact us for more information.

February, 2009

Buzz attended the February, 2009, Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show!  We were very proud of our boy!  He showed beautifully for Lois and was awarded the only Award of Merit given in the class.  We placed second behind Pete and Susan Giles, an absolutely lovely Lhasa belonging to a friend of ours, whom we'd like to congratulate!

January, 2009

Buzz continues to lead the charts as the Number One AKC Lhasa Apso and All Systems Non-Sporting Group dog since March of 2008.  Most importantly, he has been invited to the WESTMINSTER KENNEL CLUB DOG SHOW at the Madison Square Gardens in February!  Please watch for us on Monday, February 9th in the Lhasa Apso ring as we show against the most prestigious Lhasa Apsos in the country.  We appreciate everyone's continued letters, phone calls, and e-mails telling us how much they have enjoyed meeting Buzz as he travels across the country preparing for his journey to New York.  It is exhibitors and enthusiasts like all of you who make showing dogs worthwhile.  Please cross your fingers for us on our very big day!

October, 2008

Buzz continues to rock the Lhasa Apso world remaining the Number One AKC and All Systems Non-Sporting Group dog for March, April, May, June, July and August, 2008.  We continue to cross our fingers as Buzz blazes across the Specials circuit.  Please clap your hands for our little dog if you see him in a ring near you!  So many of you have offered your kind words of encouragement, given Buzz a pat on the head, and sent the loveliest e-mails ... we will be sure to keep you posted on his progress!

April, 2008

Buzz has officially been announced the Number One Lhasa Apso and  All Systems dog (highest Group point earner) in the United States for March 2008.  WOW! We are proud of this Rushmar bred and owned dog! Our very special thanks to Lois for her spectacular handling of this very special boy.  Please keep your eyes and ears open as Buzz continues his way across the Specials circuit.  Due to the demands of the many Rushmar dogs at home, we are unable to attend many of his shows and would appreciate it if you would give him a hearty round of applause if he crosses the mats in a ring near you!

As promised, Buzz has begun his Specials career with Lois in 2008.  This page will be updated regularly as he attends major shows throughout the country.  We will share Buzz's show ring accomplishments here with you as he progresses through the overall AKC 2008 Lhasa Apso point standings.  Where do *you* think Buzz will end up in the overall standings? ... That's the million dollar question!

2008 is Off to A Fantastic Start!

March 14th, 2008 Champion Rushmar's Charmer wins the Specialty in Houston, Texas.  Good breeding outweighs good luck every time - Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone!

2007 Show Ring Accomplishments:

Buzz was the youngest Lhasa Apso shown at, and received one of only three Awards of Excellence handed out at, the December, 2007, Eukenuba Invitational.

  • Award of Merit Winner, Multiple Group Winning, Best in Specialty Show Champion Rushmar's Charmer (Buzz) obtained 12 points during his first weekend shown - a 5 day show - and went Best of Breed over Specials the last two days.  This was accomplished at the young age of 16 months.  During Buzz's second weekend he won the Sweepstakes, went Winners Dog, Best of Winners, and Best of Show over the male Special to get his third 4 point Major.  This "charming" little dog finished his championship up in two swift weekends!

  • Buzz received three 4 pt. Majors and 4 singles in two brief weekends ... we are VERY proud of this Rushmar Champion!  Look for Buzz to continue his show career as a Specials dog ... he entered the show ring with a bang as a very young dog and we expect GREAT things from him as he enters adulthood!
